FreedomPop 5G

FreedomPop is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) which currently uses Three’s 4G mobile network. It’s likely that if and when FreedomPop offers 5G it will therefore do so through Three, but that’s yet to be confirmed.

When will FreedomPop launch 5G?

FreedomPop hasn’t said if or when it will launch a 5G network in the UK. Assuming it continues its relationship with Three then it can’t launch until Three does, and for its part Three has launched a 5G home broadband service and said it will launch a 5G mobile service at some point in 2019. However, FreedomPop’s 5G launch date may well be far later.

Which cities will get FreedomPop 5G first?

FreedomPop can only launch 5G coverage in cities where its network partner (currently Three) has a 5G service. Take a look at our guide to Three 5G for any updates on that.

Will I need a new phone or device to use 5G on FreedomPop?

Yes, you probably will, as at the time of writing very few 5G phones are available. Don’t expect FreedomPop itself to stock any 5G phones, as it currently just offers a SIM Only service.
