Motorola Edge 5G is out on O2 and comes with a free tablet

Motorola Edge 5G

The Motorola Edge 5G was announced about a month ago, and now finally you can buy it, as the handset has launched on O2 as one of the most affordable 5G phones around.

O2’s contracts are enormously customisable, so you can tweak the upfront and monthly cost to your liking, but as an example you can get the Motorola Edge 5G for just £32.17 per month and £30 upfront if you opt for a 36-month plan with 1GB of monthly data.

That makes it a lot cheaper than most 5G phone, yet you get a lot for your money with the Motorola Edge 5G, and if you order it from O2 by the 24th of June then you’ll also get a free Lenovo Tab E10 (valued at £99.99) thrown in, making it an even more tempting buy. You can also get additional extras, such as six months of free Disney+.

Award-winning and impressive

As for the Motorola Edge 5G itself, that has an award-winning design. Specifically, it has won the Red Dot award for outstanding design, and it’s no wonder, given the steeply curved screen that wraps almost 90 degrees around the edges of the phone.

It’s undeniably a striking, premium look, but the appeal of the Motorola Edge 5G is more than skin deep, as it also has a 6.7-inch 1080 x 2340 AMOLED display with HDR10 support and a 90Hz refresh rate, plus a quad-lens camera with a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto one, a 16MP ultra-wide one, and a depth sensor.

There’s also a 25MP front-facing camera, stereo speakers, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a big 4,500mAh battery, 128GB of storage, 6GB of RAM, and a speedy upper mid-range Snapdragon 765 chipset.

So the Motorola Edge 5G is an almost-flagship with a not at all flagship price, 5G, and – if you act fast – a free tablet thrown in for good measure.
