Apple iPhone 14 Pro 5G

The iPhone 14 Pro is one of the biggest iPhone upgrades we’ve seen in years, with the new phone packing masses more megapixels, plenty more power, and a whole new look.

The camera is one of the most exciting upgrades though, as Apple’s phones already have some of the best smartphone snappers, and with the iPhone 14 Pro there’s a new 48MP main sensor, in place of the old 12MP one.

All those extra megapixels allow for far more detail and some of the very best snaps you’ll be able to capture on a phone, along with big improvements to low light performance. Plus, the 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP selfie cameras also offer big low-light improvements, and video has had a boost too, with the highlight there being a new Action mode, which keeps your footage smooth and steady even when you’re moving around at speed.

Then there’s the design, which from the front looks almost completely new – the notch is gone, and in its place there’s a new ‘Dynamic Island,’ which takes the idea of a camera cut-out to a whole new useful level, by letting that section bubble up or slim down to provide information and shortcuts relevant to the apps and features you’re using.

The rest of the design is superb too, with a glass back, a frame made of surgical-grade stainless steel, and Ceramic Shield protection on the screen, so you can safely use the phone without a screen protector. All that and it’s water and dust resistant too.

As for the screen, that’s high-resolution, sports superb contrast and colour accuracy, and has a 120Hz refresh rate, so like everything else here it’s among the best you’ll find on a phone.

The power is class-leading too, thanks to an A16 Bionic chipset that outpaces every 2022 Android chip, as well as providing a big boost over the iPhone 13 Pro.

And battery has been improved as well, so you can comfortably use the iPhone 14 Pro into a second day before it will need a charge. Really, there’s no area where this phone doesn’t excel.
