Overview
The iPhone 15 has a high-end design, impressive cameras, loads of power, and flagship features.
- A new 48MP main camera that doubles as a telephoto snapper
- A very powerful A16 Bionic chipset
- A clever Dynamic Island
- A bright, crisp OLED screen
The iPhone 15 is the phone that the iPhone 14 should have been, with a stylish new look and a much better camera.
That new look is defined by its Dynamic Island, which sits at the top of the screen in place of the iPhone 14’s notch, and not just looks more modern, but is also far more useful, as it both houses the selfie camera and works like a dynamic widget that changes based on the apps you’re using.
The other massive upgrade this year is to the main camera, which has a new 48MP sensor allowing for four times more detailed photos than the iPhone 14’s 12MP main camera. In fact, this new camera is so good that it’s really two cameras in one, because as well as typical wide-angle photos, it can also take optical quality 2x zoom shots. On top of which there’s also a dedicated 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP front-facing camera.
Other highlights of the iPhone 15 include its USB-C port, which is a new feature for iPhones, and its A16 Bionic chipset, which is the same as you’ll find in the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and makes it exceptionally powerful.
The iPhone 15 also has a water-resistant build, a 6.1-inch OLED screen with an extremely high peak brightness of 2,000 nits, up to 512GB of storage, and it runs Apple’s slick iOS 17 operating system.
