1pMobile 5G coverage checker

1pMobile’s 5G coverage reaches over 87% of the UK population at the time of writing, and it’s sure to keep on improving.

1pMobile is an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that uses EE’s infrastructure, meaning that its 5G (and 4G) will be available in the same locations as EE.

Below you’ll find all the key details of 1pMobile’s 5G network, including its coverage across various major UK towns and cities, and how the UK’s other networks compare.

The best way to view 1pMobile’s coverage in your area is simply to enter your postcode (or any postcode that you want to check) in our coverage checker box above.

Once done, you’ll see 1pMobile’s 5G and 4G coverage in that area, along with a comparison to the UK’s other networks.

We source this information from both the networks themselves and independent sources, and it’s all real-time, so it’s as accurate as possible.

How does 1pMobile's 5G coverage compare to others?

We monitor the 5G coverage of each major UK network across 120 major UK towns and cities, giving you an at-a-glance idea of how each network compares across the UK, as you can see in the charts below.

1pMobile has the same number of locations as EE below:

The chart below lists all these locations, so a tick against one means that network has coverage there, though that coverage won’t always be comprehensive.

So to be surer of how good the coverage is in an area, you should either use our coverage checker above or use 1pMobile’s official coverage checker.

And for reference, the most recent places to get 1pMobile 5G coverage (via EE) as of February 2026 include Llandudno, parts of the Outer Hebrides, and Tonbridge.

4G coverage

1pMobile additionally offers 4G and 2G coverage via EE, so if there’s no 5G you’ll still be able to get online assuming there’s another type of signal available.

And there usually will be, because 1pMobile has roughly 99% 4G population coverage, as you can see in the chart below.

How fast is 1pMobile’s 5G network?

EE’s average 5G download speed

EE’s median 5G download speed

EE’s max 5G download speed

96.8Mbps (Opensignal)

241.2Mbps (RootMetrics)

753Mbps (Point Topic)

There hasn’t been much in the way of testing of 1pMobile’s 5G network speeds, but as a major network EE has been studied, and since 1pMobile uses the same spectrum and infrastructure, its speeds are likely to be similar.

Some of the most recent data there is Ookla testing from the second half of 2025, which found that EE’s median 5G download speed was 97.96Mbps and its 90th percentile 5G download speed was 326.01Mbps.

There’s also some slightly older RootMetrics testing from the first half of 2025, which found that EE’s median 5G download speed was 241.2Mbps, and that’s the highest of any network in that test. RootMetrics also found that EE’s 95th percentile 5G speed (meaning close to its highest) was 730.1Mbps, and reported that its 5th percentile 5G speed (so close to its lowest) was 27.9Mbps.

But a much older Point Topic study from September 2020 found that EE’s maximum 5G download speed was even higher than the 95th percentile one above at 753Mbps, so that’s what we’ve listed in the chart at the top of this section.

Finally, there’s Opensignal testing from September 2024, which found that EE’s average 5G download speed was 96.8Mbps.

So there’s not much consistency here, with some results being a lot better than others, but even the lower speeds above have 4G well and truly beat.

Latency

For latency – that being the time it takes for a network to respond to a request to transfer data – EE’s median is 30ms (milliseconds) when unloaded according to a 2023 Speedtest report.

For loaded latency – which is the latency when the connection is under heavy load – Ookla found in 2025 that EE’s was 583.53ms. So in both cases 1pMobile’s is likely to be similar.

For comparison, unloaded latency on 4G is usually in the range of 30-50ms.

What frequencies/bands does 1pMobile use?

 26GHz (26,000MHz)

    5G

3.6GHz (3600MHz)

4G

1.8GHz (1800MHz)

2G and 4G

800MHz

4G

700MHz

5G

EE has access to all of the frequencies in the chart above, and presumably 1pMobile does as well. That means the 40GHz, 26GHz, 3.4GHz, 3.6GHz and 700MHz bands are used for 5G.

Most of those are high frequency, which is perfect for 5G because these frequencies are available in high capacities, which keeps connections reliable and speeds high. But the 700MHz band is also handy as it addresses the weaknesses of high frequencies – namely that they don’t travel as far and aren’t as good at passing through walls and other obstacles.

In all, EE – and therefore presumably 1pMobile – has access to 1GHz of 40GHz spectrum, 800MHz of 26GHz spectrum, 40Mhz of 3.4GHz spectrum, 40MHz of 3.6GHz spectrum, and 40MHz of 700MHz spectrum, totalling 1,920MHz in all.

O2 has exactly the same total amount, but the combined VodafoneThree network has slightly more at 2,030MHz.

It’s possible though that any or all of these networks will acquire more 5G spectrum at future 5G spectrum auctions.
