Vodafone brings 5G and unlimited data to mobile broadband

26 February 2020

Vodfone unlimited mobile broadband

Last year Vodafone both launched its 5G service and started offering unlimited data plans so you can make the most of those speeds, but previously these things were just available on Pay Monthly, SIM Only, Pay As You Go and home broadband plans. Now they’re also available for mobile broadband and data SIMs.

The network is offering Unlimited Max plans for tablets, data SIMs, mobile Wi-Fi devices and dongles, so you can get basically anything with Wi-Fi support online with 5G speeds – not just phones.

Unlimited Max plans are limited only by your device and Vodafone’s infrastructure – there are no artificial speed limits, meaning you get true 5G. Note however that Vodafone has also started offering Unlimited plans, which top out at 10Mbps, and therefore aren’t 5G – so make sure you sign up for the right thing.

5G at home and abroad

Its Unlimited Max mobile broadband plans are available on both 30-day and 12-month contracts and start from just £33 per month. And as well as 5G speeds (in places where there’s Vodafone 5G coverage) and unlimited data, they also give you free roaming in 77 destinations – that’s more than any other UK network. And Vodafone is also the only UK network (along with VOXI, which it owns) to offer 5G roaming in select locations.

Max Taylor, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK says: “We launched our market-leading range of Unlimited mobile tariffs last year and now we expand Unlimited to include Mobile Broadband plans. Our customers are empowered to do more of what they love, wherever they may be on the UK’s best mobile data network.”

As well as these new mobile broadband plans, Vodafone has also extended its range of smartphone SIM Only plans to include 24-month ones.

These give you a cheaper monthly price in exchange for a longer commitment, and like other SIM Only plans can additionally be boosted with a bundled entertainment subscription, such as Amazon Prime Video, Spotify Premium, NowTV Entertainment, or Sky Sports Mobile TV. And of course you can also get these plans with unlimited data and 5G.
