About Honor
Honor is a Chinese brand that’s grown in popularity over the years. The brand used to be owned by Huawei, but in 2020 it was sold, which has allowed it to continue using Google apps and services while Huawei was banned from them.
The company makes a wide range of Android smartphones, including both affordable handsets and top-end premium ones that can compete with the best Samsung and Apple phones.
Some of its devices also include 5G, and they often stand out through offering excellent battery life, fast charging, and great cameras. They’re available at a range of prices too, so whatever kind of 5G phone you’re after, Honor is likely to have one to suit.
Which Honor phones support 5G?
There aren’t yet a huge number of 5G Honor phones, as the company stuck with 4G for a long time, but its selection includes the following:
- Honor 50
- Honor Magic 4 Pro
- Honor Magic 4 Lite
Which 5G Honor phone should I choose?
That depends on what you want from your 5G phone, but Honor has all the main bases covered here. If you want a top-end flagship, go for the Honor Magic 4 Pro. For an affordable 5G phone, pick up the Honor Magic 4 Lite, and for something in the middle, go with the Honor 50.
Top 5G Honor phone
The Honor Magic 4 Pro is the top 5G Honor phone. This is the company’s 2022 flagship, and it has a range of impressive specs, including 100W wired charging and even 100W wireless charging, both of which are higher speeds than almost any other phone.
It also has a supercharged Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a quad-lens camera, a premium build, and a massive 6.81-inch 1312 x 2848 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s top end across the board and won’t disappoint.
Most affordable 5G Honor phone
The Honor Magic 4 Lite is the most affordable Honor 5G phone. This low-cost alternative to the Honor Magic 4 Pro flagship sports a long-lasting battery, speedy 66W charging, a triple-lens camera, and a 6.81-inch 1080 x 2388 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
So despite being a fairly affordable handset, the Honor Magic 4 Lite still has an impressive assortment of specs.
Top value 5G Honor phone
Striking a balance between the premium Honor Magic 4 Pro and the affordable Honor Magic 4 Lite, the Honor 50 is arguably the best value 5G Honor phone.
It has lots of high-end specs, including a quad-lens camera led by a pixel-packed 108MP sensor, a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 66W charging, and a speedy Snapdragon 778G chipset.
Latest 5G Honor phones
The Honor Magic 4 Pro and the Honor Magic 4 Lite are the latest 5G Honor phones. The former is a high-end phone, and the latter is a budget one – which still manages to pack in mid-range specs.
Honor in summary
Honor is one of a number of impressive Chinese smartphone brands, but where once it focused on affordable alternatives to big-name mobiles, it now aims to compete with the biggest brands – as well as offering cheap options too.
It doesn’t yet have a huge number of 5G phones, but the ones it does make are all high-quality, so this is a brand you can trust.
