LG has been making smartphones for many years now, covering everything from entry-level handsets to flagships.

While not as famous or successful in the field as its countrymate Samsung, LG is still a very well known name, and that’s in part because its smartphones tend to stand out from rivals in a number of ways, which we’ll get to below.

Why choose an LG 5G phone?

LG was one of the very first companies to launch a 5G phone, so it’s clear the company sees the potential of the tech.

Plus, LG is exceedingly experienced at making smartphones, having been in the business for many years, and been responsible for a number of critically-acclaimed devices.

If there’s one thing that sums LG up though it’s innovation. Whether through the attachable mods for the LG G5, the curved screen of the LG G Flex, the second screen of the LG V50 ThinQ, or a dozen other examples, LG always seems to be trying something new and interesting with its phones.

It’s perhaps for this reason that the company has managed to stay relevant in the increasingly tough smartphone market.

So if you buy a 5G phone from LG - whether on contract or bought outright to use with 5G SIM Only - not only do you know it’s likely to be good, but there’s also a fair chance it will stand out from the crowd.

Just make sure to check your 5G coverage first.

Notable LG 5G phones

The LG V50 ThinQ was LG’s first 5G phone, as well as being among the first 5G phones from any company.

While it’s certainly notable for those reasons, it’s also notable for having a Dual Screen accessory which lets you attach a second screen to it, bringing it closer to the functionality of a foldable phone, but at a much lower cost.

These features aside, the LG V50 ThinQ is just an all-round impressive handset, with specs that can compete with any other 2019 flagship.
