Overview

The Three 5G Outdoor Hub is Three’s latest 5G home broadband solution, and it comes in two parts – the 5G Outdoor Hub itself, and an Eero 6 Wi-Fi router.

The Hub itself is something you install outside, and that’s what makes this product special, as most 5G home broadband devices are installed inside your home, which means there’s inevitably at least one wall or window between them and the nearest 5G mast.

The Three 5G Outdoor Hub though doesn’t have these obstacles, meaning it’s better able to pick up a 5G signal.

It’s also easier to install than you might think, with the option to attach it to a drainpipe (with a supplied bracket), or stick it to a wall or window. All of which can easily be achieved without needing an engineer.

However you choose to install the Three 5G Outdoor Hub, you then connect it via cable to the Eero 6 Wi-Fi router, which uses that 5G signal it picked up to create a Wi-Fi network. And the Eero 6 also has two Ethernet ports, allowing for even speedier and more stable connections where needed.

Three claims you can expect average download speeds of 150Mbps with the Three 5G Outdoor Hub, though actual speeds will vary depending on your location. In any case though, if you’re somewhere with limited broadband options and speeds, then the Three 5G Outdoor Hub is likely to be faster – assuming it can get a 5G signal, which it’s more likely to be able to do than most 5G home broadband options.
